New Developments

On the Drawing Board...

Maroba has been keen to provide more opportunities and diversity of accommodation for those on our self care waiting list and of course those who are yet to discover Waratah's best kept secret.

Once again we have partnered with EJE architecture to develop plans for apartment style living. This exciting development will be situated within our Waratah Campus to complement our existing facilities and will provide modern apartments with views of the city, out to sea and over the well established grounds of Braye Park.

The Maroba Apartments will be accessible for Maroba staff via a linkway to provide additional services as and when they may be required.

It is never too early to get your name on our waiting list, so call our reception on 49350 300 to arrange for an obligation free application form. It won't cost you anything to go on our list .... but it will help you avoid disappointment if you miss out!

Simavita Project

“Simavita comes to the Hunter”....

Maroba Manor will be implementing the SIMsystem™ in June. The SIMsystem™ is a revolutionary new high tech method of remotely monitoring and assessing continence events, approved for use in various healthcare settings or during the compulsory or recommended assessment conducted in aged care facilities. The programme is designed to make assessment easier, simpler and more accurate for carers - as well as more effective and dignifying  for residents.

Significantly, apart from improving the quality of life for aged care residents and those who care for them, the SIMsystem™ can save more than 50% of the cost of labour associated with manual continence assessments. Thereby providing that all important additional time for greater focus on other activities in the care of the aging person.

This additional care time allows for improved outcomes for the Maroba Manor residents and a safer, more risk free setting. It also means Maroba Manor staff are given extra time to do their jobs well, within a less stressful work flow environment where the pressure of time can be a constant challenge to their physical and mental health as well as that of those they care for.

Maroba has applied for and been  awarded a Grant from the Commonwealth to enable us to enhance the services we provide in palliative care and end stage dementia care.

This grant will assist us in establishing recognised clinical pathways and assessment tools and increase the knowledge and skills of our staff in these two vital areas.
