In conjunction with Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE; TAFE Queensland; Strategic & Recovery Station – Maroba has developed a project team to look at enhancing the person centred service of Residential Aged Care. Funded through the Department of Health and Ageing.
Spirituality in Aged Care
Meaningful Ageing Australia is the Australian national peak body for spiritual care and ageing. They are a not-for-profit, supporting organisations and groups to respond to the pastoral and spiritual needs of older people, their significant others, and their carers. This video gives a short overview of some key spiritual needs of older people. We see that basic spiritual care is part of all roles and is not about ‘more work’ but ‘the way you work’. This is core to the National Guidelines for Spiritual Care in Aged Care. This is a excellent video to raise awareness of how we all can offer meaningful and practical spiritual care.
