Charter of Aged Care Rights

The Australian Government has introduced a new Charter of Aged Care Rights which is effective from 1 July 2019.

Maroba, as an aged care provider are legally required to assist residents to understand the rights under the Charter, and over the coming months Maroba staff will meet with residents to explain this in more detail. The Charter is to be signed by each resident or their authorised representative.

New Aged Care Quality Standards

The new Aged Care Quality Standards are effective from 1 July 2019, and consist of eight individual standards that focus on quality and safety outcomes for all who access Commonwealth subsidised aged care services.

The eight standards are;

1.   Consumer dignity and choice
2.   Ongoing assessment and planning with consumers
3.   Personal care and clinical care
4.   Services and supports for daily living
5.   Organisation’s service environment
6.   Feedback and complaints
7.   Human resources
8.   Organisational governance.

Our accommodation

The Lodge has 55 single suites including accommodation for people living with dementia.

The Manor

The Manor has 61 single suites and 18 double suites, including accommodation for people living with dementia. This modern air-conditioned two story building has a reception area, 10 outdoor areas (two with gardens), 4 dining rooms, 4 activity/television rooms, gymnasium, beautician, hair salon and library.
With a North/East aspect, the rooms and common areas are light filled, with an abundance of fresh air.

The Lodge

The Lodge has 43 suites, including 12 suites designed for people living with dementia. All suites are equipped with a kitchenette and en-suite facilities. Most suites open up to sunny and leafy private courtyards. This lifestyle is ideal for those who require a little support with daily living, but still want their own space.

This modern air-conditioned single story building has a reception area, 4 outdoor areas (two with gardens), 3 dining rooms, 3 activity/televisions rooms, a hair salon and library.

Understanding our costs

We understand that relocating to a residential aged care facility can be hard decision, so it is important to understand the costs and fees associated with care. So that you and your family can choose the aged care facility, accommodation and payment options that best meet your needs we have outlined the two fees payable in detail below.

These are the Daily Fee and the Accommodation Payment.

Daily Fee

The daily fee is broken down into three sections

  • Basic Daily Fee (which is mandatory)
  • Means Tested Care Fee (Government assessable)
  • Maroba Advantage Fee (income assessed)

Accommodation

The total Accommodation Payment amount will vary depending on the suite you select and the payment method you choose from R.A.D, D.A.P, or a combination of both.
