Dear Friends of Maroba,
Re: CEO Appointment
After an extensive search and thorough screening process, I have great pleasure in announcing
Phoebe van Bentum as the incoming CEO of Maroba Aged Care facility.
Phoebe brings a wealth of executive experience from across the not-for-profit sector, with a strong
track record of leading mission-driven organisations through times of growth and renewal. Known
for her thoughtful leadership, strategic insight, and deep respect for people, Phoebe is passionate
about building services that honour dignity, choice, and connection – values at the heart of aged
care.
Phoebe steps into the position with fresh perspective, an open mind, and a firm commitment to
learning from those who know Maroba best – our residents, families, staff, and wider community.
She is excited to continue building on the phenomenal work of Maroba’s current CEO, Viv Allanson,
and to steward Maroba into its next chapter with integrity and care.
Her appointment reflects Maroba’s commitment to honouring its mission while embracing the
opportunities of a new era in aged care reform. I’m confident the future of Maroba is in capable
hands!
During August and September, Phoebe will work alongside Viv to transition into the CEO position.
Viv’s time at Maroba will finish towards the end of September, and I look forward to further
opportunities to honour Viv and acknowledge her outstanding career.
Phoebe says, ‘This is a time of profound change and possibility in aged care, I’m honoured to join a
community with such a rich culture and strong sense of purpose, and I look forward to listening,
learning, and working alongside staff, residents, and families to shape a future that continues to love
out loud, and reflect dignity, trust, and innovation.’
Please join me in welcoming Phoebe as she settles in over the coming months.
With kind regards,
Graeme Evans
