Effective governance is critical to providing a stable environment for our residents, families, friends and staff of Maroba.
Maroba is governed by a Board of Volunteer Directors who collectively believe in the Vision, Mission and Values that enrich the lives of our residents, their families and the community.

Phoebe van Bentum – Chief Executive Officer. Phoebe leads Maroba with a passion for creating communities where people feel known, valued, and connected. With extensive executive experience across the not-for-profit sector, she is responsible for Maroba’s strategic direction, governance, and organisational performance. Since joining Maroba in late 2025, Phoebe has worked alongside residents, families, staff, and the Board to strengthen culture, quality, and community engagement while helping shape an exciting future for Maroba.
Louise Adnum – General Manager, Corporate Services. Louise joined Maroba in October 2018 and has over 27 years’ experience in the care sector working within Disability, Community Aged Care, Residential Aged Care and Retirement Living sectors. Louise is a qualified accountant and has overall responsibility for Business Services, Quality and Registered Training arm, Smart Training and Consulting.
Rachel Hollis -General Manager, Clinical & People Services. Rachel joined Maroba in September 2019 and has over 30 years experience working leading People and Culture within organisations. She has experience in both Private and Public Companies, across a range of industries, including Community, Youth, Disabilities, Heavy Industry, Primary and Tertiary Education, Hospitality, Health and Well-being sectors. Rachel has qualifications in Business and WHS and is passionate about creating workplaces that are inspiring, based on values and real connections enabling people to thrive.

Janelle Wilson – Director of Nursing – Nurse & Clinical Care
Janelle leads Maroba’s nursing and clinical care services, ensuring residents receive safe, person-centred, evidence-informed care that promotes quality of life and wellbeing. Janelle is accountable for the systems, frameworks and practices that support clinical excellence, resident safety, clinical risk management, dementia care, nursing practice standards and the Resident CARE Coordinator model. With over 19 years of nursing experience, Janelle has continually pursued further education and professional development. Janelle has completed a Certificate IV in Aged Care, a Diploma of Nursing and a Bachelor of Nursing which led to her appointment as a Registered Nurse, followed by a Postgraduate qualification in Aged Care. More recently, Janelle completed all theoretical components of a Master of Nurse Practitioner program. She progressed into leadership roles, first as a Clinical Nurse Partner and now as Director of Nursing – Nurse & Clinical Care
Sarah Russell – Director of Nursing – Integrated Care
Sarah is driven by a desire to build deeper connections and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. Before entering healthcare, Sarah spent her twenties travelling the world. Her lifelong respect for older people, inspired by close relationships with her grandmother and older generations when young, naturally led her to a career in aged care. After completing her Enrolled Nursing qualification and later earning her Registered Nursing degree through the University of Technology Sydney, Sarah gained experience across hospital and community care settings before joining Maroba. Sarah is passionate about building genuine relationships with residents and their families, supporting mental wellbeing, and ensuring every person receives compassionate, dignified care throughout their ageing journey. She values the opportunity to hear residents’ stories, learn from their life experiences, and make a positive impact every day.
Christine Davis – Property & Hotel Services Partner.
Christine has worked in the aged care sector for over 30 years and joined Maroba in 2016. Christine is responsible for overseeing the teams and services that help keep Maroba running smoothly every day. From catering, cleaning, and laundry services to building maintenance, grounds, air conditioning, and renovations, Christine ensures our residents enjoy a comfortable, welcoming, and well-maintained environment that feels like home.
Silvana Peters – Business Services Partner.
Silvana has worked at Maroba since 2004 and is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Corporate Services which includes accounts, administration and reception, as well as the IT and telecommunications aspects of the business. The Business Services Partner and team is here to provide support to all other parts of the business, as required.
Dean Attard – Quality and Governance Partner.
Dean supports teams across Maroba to oversee quality and compliance processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on safe, high-quality, resident centred care. He has more than 15 years’ experience across the pharmaceutical and aged care sectors in leadership, consultancy and quality roles, including the past four years working directly with Maroba. Dean is a final year Law student and Biomedicine graduate from the University of Newcastle, with a strong interest in how law, governance and technology shape healthcare practice.
