Hi everyone!
Please see attached our August activities program! This program is full of new and exciting activities, as well as some of our much-loved favourites, including:
- Celebrating National Science Week with an activity on interactive science experiments as well as a visit from Khym The Reptile Man
- 7 concerts, from: Salvation Army Band, Lemon Drops Choir, Rainbow Connection Choir, Adam Price & The Linedancers, Olive Payne, Kerryn Grant & Les Peterkin piano player
- A new 3pm activity: Tech Support – where residents can join a social engagement staff member to learn more about their devices. Residents will learn how to navigate their ipads, tablets, phones, televisions and even learn about AI!
- A new Book Club activity – where chapters of a book will be read aloud each week. This activity has come from a need for more activities for our vision impaired residents, however, all are welcome!
- A new Newspaper Group for residents to run Wednesday mornings in the Lodge cafe. This is a chance for residents to get together over a coffee and discuss current events
- Armchair Travel to Japan
- Bus Outings to Goodstart Preschool & The Newcastle Library ‘Memory Room’ program
- Guest Speakers: Carolyn Gibbins and Caleb Munro each talk about their recent holidays
- Cooking Therapy – with Apple Crumble and Pizzas on the menu
- The return on Hymnsing in Waratah on Friday mornings
- 2 Intergenerational programs with Jesmond Public School and St Phillip’s
- Scheduled Sensory & Relaxation Therapy in Waratah and Honeysuckle of an afternoon, specifically for those who may find it difficult to participate in other activities
A program will be given to each resident, and there will also be copies at reception in the Manor and at the entrance to The Lodge.
