Governance

Effective governance is critical to providing a stable environment for our residents, families, friends and staff of Maroba.

Maroba is governed by a Board of Volunteer Directors who collectively believe in the Vision, Mission and Values that enrich the lives of our residents, their families and the community.

Our Board come from a range of professional backgrounds, bringing together a diverse set of skills, including financial, management, Allied Health, Academia, leadership, development, strategic and legal.

Our Executive Team

Phoebe van Bentum – Chief Executive Officer.Phoebe brings a wealth of executive experience from across the not-for-profit sector, with a strong
track record of leading mission-driven organisations through times of growth and renewal. Known for her thoughtful leadership, strategic insight, and deep respect for people, Phoebe is passionate about building services that honour dignity, choice, and connection – values at the heart of aged care.

Louise Adnum – General Manager, Corporate Services. Louise joined Maroba in October 2018 and has over 27 years’ experience in the care sector working within Disability, Community Aged Care, Residential Aged Care and Retirement Living sectors. Louise is a qualified accountant and has overall responsibility for People and Culture, Business Services, Quality and Registered Training arm, Smart Training and Consulting.

Rachel Hollis -General Manager, Clinical & People Services. Rachel joined Maroba in September 2019 and has over 30 years experience working leading People and Culture within organisations. She has experience in both Private and Public Companies, across a range of industries, including Community, Youth, Disabilities, Heavy Industry, Primary and Tertiary Education, Hospitality, Health and Well-being sectors. Rachel has qualifications in Business and WHS and is passionate about creating workplaces that are inspiring, based on values and real connections enabling people to thrive.

  • Janelle Wilson/Sarah Russell – Director of Nursing

Sarah Russell & Janelle Wilson – Director of Nursing
Sarah and Janelle ensure that clinical governance is current and oversees and implements clinical care needs and systems. This role also includes mentoring, supervising and training ensuring quality services are delivered to Maroba residents. Sarah and Janelle are also involved in the recruitment, orientation and evaluations of clinical team members.

Christine Davis – Customer Services Partner.
Christine has worked in the Aged care sector for over 30 years and joined Maroba in 2016. Christine works with our prospective residents assisting them and their families to navigate the application journey and welcoming our new Residents and helping them to continue living their best life in their new home. Christine welcomes any input from families to help her and her teams get to know their family member. Christine oversees the Hospitality, Social Engagement, Spiritual and Customer Service teams.

John Zammit – Property Services Partner.
John came to Maroba after the completion of building the Manor in 2009. John looks after all our maintenance, repairs to building and equipment and also oversees building and renovation works. John loves to interact with our residents as he moves about the building.

Silvana Peters – Business Services Partner.
Silvana has worked at Maroba since 2004 and is responsible for managing the day to day operations of Corporate Services which includes accounts, administration and reception, as well as the IT and telecommunications aspects of the business. The Business Services Partner and team is here to provide support to all other parts of the business, as required.
